Carbon Calculation

Farnek, being one of the first company in UAE and Middle East, which has introduced a state-of-the art online carbon footprint calculation tool “CARBONTEK” to measure, analyze and identify the hotspots in carbon emissions of the businesses activities and products. This will support businesses to accurately measure their carbon emissions, categorize the sources of emissions and further plan for reducing emissions as well as operational cost.

This digital tool will calculate carbon emissions across all three scopes of emissions, i.e., Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in accordance with Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) – a widely used greenhouse gas accounting and reporting standard.

The tool can also be made customize for reporting carbon emissions according to type and scope of business operations with multiple-users accessibility from multiple locations.

Carbon Footprint Assessment

  • Carbon footprint is the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, event, organization, or product, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent.
  • Calculate Carbon Footprint including Scope 1, 2 & full Scope 3 emissions in accordance with Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).

SCOPE 1

Direct emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the company such as emissions from vehicles owned or controlled by the company, boilers, furnaces, vehicles, etc.

SCOPE 2

Indirect emissions from purchased electricity or cooling consumed by the company

SCOPE 3

Indirect emissions from the value chain of the company’s activities from sources not owned or controlled by the company. This includes raw materials, capital goods, logistics, business travel by the team, employees commute to work, waste, etc.
